The Council has adopted a ‘climate justice’ focus for its Energy campaign. The Council’s climate justice work is based on the following concepts:
- Countries in the global North must repay their ‘climate debt’ to countries in the global South.
- We need system change to solve the climate change crisis.
- Canada needs a national energy strategy based on the principles of energy security and ecological sustainability and public and community ownership of renewable energy resources.
