Some of the Council's successes include:

  • creating mometum for bans on bottled water across Canada
  • our chairperson Maude Barlow's appointment as senior water advisor to the United Nations
  • exposing the threat to Canada's independence posed by the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP)
  • raising awareness about the dangers of the Trade, Investment, and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA)
  • helping to stop the Multi-lateral Agreement on Investment (MAI)

  • helping to prevent Canada from joining in the Star Wars missile defense system
