What Can I Do About it?

  1. Explain the importance of protecting our public health care system to your family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues.

  2. Write a letter to your local paper or your favourite blog calling on the provincial and federal governments to uphold the Canada Health Act, to shut down private clinics, and to give their full support to the public health care system.

  3. Write a letter or e-mail to the provincial and federal ministers of health demanding that they enforce the Canada Health Act, shut down private clinics, and give their full support to the public health care system. Be sure to send a copy to the ministers’ opposition counterparts.

  4. Join your provincial Health Coalition or the local chapter of the Council of Canadians and fight to protect public health care.

  5. Meet with your MLA and your MP to ask them to fight to improve public health care and to put a stop to the privatization of the system. If you can’t meet them, send them a letter or e-mail.
