What Can I Do About it?

  1. Conserve water wherever possible.

  2. Instead of buying bottled water, use the perfectly safe public tap water. If you’re on the go, fill a non-leaching bottle with tapwater and take it with you.

  3. Be on guard for any attempts to privatize your local water system. Lobby the civic government to maintain a high quality public water system.

  4. Lobby the federal government to create a Canadian water strategy that protects water as a human right and that deals with the threats to our water security.

  5. Join the local chapter of the Council of Canadians or another organization that is actively fighting to protect water as a public resource.

  6. Keep an eye on the Vancouver Chapter's website for upcoming events and Action Alerts!
